Non-Sanctioned Rabbit Breeds ~ I Raise
"Fuzzy" Netherland Dwarfs- Breed Size: A Dwarf Breed Weight: 1.5 to 2.0lb
Temperament: Usually very active personalities like Netherland Dwarfs; sometimes a more of a "Lap" Bunny.
The "Fuzzy" Netherland Dwarf refers to the "Fuzzy"/"Wool" that pops up in the Netherland Dwarf lines along the way. It can pop up generations later, even with full Netherland Dwarf lines/Pedigree lines. Basically it is a Full Netherland Dwarf with the "Wool" gene: Hence the name: Fuzzy Netherland Dwarf. This is an Undesirable trait for Netherland Dwarf Breeders. But very sought after for any Dwarf breed Program such as: Jersey Wooly, American Fuzzy Lops, etc. ~ As they have the small compact bodies desired in Jersey Woolies, etc... and carry the "Wool" gene as well.
Many breeders and pet owners alike - including us (My mom & I) LOVE the Temperaments best. Quiet but so Friendly and personable! The Best of both Worlds. This is the reason why my mom and I started breeding Fuzzy Netherland Dwarfs ~ for their cuteness and temperament. We have also added Fuzzy Netherland Dwarfs to our Jersey Wooly program to help with bone structure and wool. - I do sell a few of these. I call them: Netherland Wooly Dwarfs.
Netherland Wooly Dwarfs - Breed Size: A Dwarf Breed Weight: 1.5 to 2.5lb
Temperament: Sometimes "Lap" bunnies like JWoolies & sometimes very active personalities like NDwarfs. Netherland Wooly Dwarfs are a breeding of two different breeds. A Netherland Dwarf and a Jersey Wooly. It's like a box of Chocolates...you never know if you are going to get a rabbit that looks more like a Netherland Dwarf - size, hair type and body composition or a Jersey Wooly - size, wool type and angora body composition.
